Wastewater treatment involves three key steps:

Collecting sewage using pipes, manholes, and lift stations.
Treating the wastewater using different technologies like extended aeration, moving bed bioreactors (MBBR), and membrane bioreactors (MBR) depending on the required quality of Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE);
Transferring the treated water into the environment for irrigation, filling aquifers, returning to the marine environment, or use in industrial processes.
